Guidelines: Star*Line Prose Poem Issue, November-December 2009

Needs: 100-500 word prose poems. Also open to flash fiction, memoir, essay, satire, rant, as long as they demonstrate effective use of poetic technique and attention to language.

Open: June 1, 2009 -- until full.

Simultaneous Subs: Yes. Let me know if you place it elsewhere.

Reprints: Yes. Please provide complete publishing history.

Payment: Three cents per word rounded to the next dollar. Buying one-time print rights. An Editor's Choice Poem will also appear online at the SFPA site and will receive an additional three cents per word for one-time electronic rights. Payment within thirty days of publication.

How to Submit: Send one to three pieces as text files in the body of an e-mail (no attachments) to SLprosepoem@aol.com. Please put "Submission:" followed by your last name in the e-mail header. Don't submit again until you receive a response. Regular mail submissions can be sent to:

Be sure to include your contact information in e-mail or regular mail submissions. Regular mail submissions should include an SASE (with sufficient postage to return the poems if you want them back) or an e-mail address for response. Cover letters are optional.
