Halloween Reading Open for Submissions
SFPA members: submit one audio file of yourself reading a poem suitable for Halloween, including a short blurb with any or all of the following: intro, where/when first published if a reprint, website or blog link, and a recent anthology or book with a link to purchase. Participation is unpaid. SFPA acquires one-time audio rights only. (NB: for Rhysling Award nominations, posting on the SFPA Halloween page counts as publication.)

Any graphics, spooky photos, etc. are also welcome. Submit to Liz Bennefeld at sfpoetry (at) quietspaces(dot)net by September 30 if possible. Poems will be posted in the order in which they are received. The plan is to have this year's page live by October 6, with additions until about a week before the holiday.

Book Honors

JANE YOLEN, on 1 November, was the first woman to deliver the Andrew Lang Lecture since its founding at the University of St Andrews in 1927. J.R.R. Tolkien's 'On Fairy Stories' was the 1939 Lang lecture.
