A poetry reading and open mike for science fiction, fantasy, horror, science, and surreal poetry will take place in the commons area.  The poetry reading and open mike is free and open to the public.  Please arrive a few minutes early to sign-up to read.

The reading will immediately follow a ceremony at 7:00 p.m. where officers of the Science Fiction Poetry Association will present their archives to the Eaton Collection.  Participating officers include Deborah P Kolodji (president), Samantha Henderson (treasurer), and Richard Gombert (publication archivist).  Other participating poets include Geoffrey A. Speculative poet Christopher Vera is among the readers for the release of the 19th annual Magee Park Poets Anthology. The reading will take place at Carlsbad City Library's Ruby G. Schulman Auditorium.
