Haiku reading and launch of the Southern California Haiku Study Group anthology. The reading is free with museum admittance.

The new anthology contains haiku by 62 voices from our local region, including the following SFPA members: Ashley Baldon, Kendall Evans, Deborah P Kolodji, Wendy Rathbone, Kathabela Wilson

Music by Rick Wilson, the husband of Kathabela Wilson, who did the accompaniment for some Halloween readings. We plan to read all of the poems in the anthology.

Beyond Baroque is one of the leading U.S. independent Literary/Arts Centers and public spaces dedicated to literary and cultural production, contact, interaction, and community building. Founded in 1968, it is based in the Old Town Hall in Venice, near the Pacific Ocean. It offers a program of readings, free workshops, publishing, bookstore, archiving, and education.

FANGIRLS: Poetry Comics, and Kick Ass Women
SFPA member Jeannine Hall Gailey, author of "Becoming the Villainess" is a featured reader in this program. The other readers, Consuelo Flores, Ramona Pilar Gonzales, and Angela Brommel, will read poetry, fiction, and nonfiction focused on comics and superheroes from the female perspective.

The SFPA Poetry Reading and Open Mike will be held at 5 pm on Friday, February 11 (not Saturday, as was announced before—the Eaton website has been corrected) at the Mission Inn, Ho-O-Kan room, in Riverside.
