Poetry Workshop and Pedestal Magazine Reading Event

Sponsored by the North Carolina Poetry Society.

SFPA member John Amen, publisher of The Pedestal Magazine, led this workshop, which centered on discussions related to how various poets achieve cohesion in their poetry through the use of narrative, imagery, and rhythm. Sample poems were discussed, and participants brought samples of their own work for group discussion. Following the workshop, a Pedestal reading was held.

Matt McGee is publisher of Falling Star Magazine, a collection of short fiction and poetry from writers all over the world. He is a director and producer of theatre, recently staging David Mamet's American Buffalo and Tennessee Williams' 27 Wagons of Cotton. Deborah P Kolodji is president of the Science Fiction Poetry Association, a member of the Haiku Society of America, and her work can be found in Modern Haiku and Frogpond, in addition to Star*Line, Scifaikuest, and Mythic.
